Why our Stories are Important

Each day, somewhere in the world, recovery begins when one alcoholic talks with another alcoholic, sharing experience, strength, and hope. Our stories disclose in a general way what we used to be like, what happened, and what we are like now.

We hope that by sharing our stories newcomers will learn more about alcoholism and the solution available in Alcoholics Anonymous. We encourage anyone new to A.A. to listen for the similarities, not the differences.
