What happens at GSO?

The General Service Office (GSO) is the administration office of the New Zealand General Service Board (NZGSB). As such, its role is to act as the administration office for the Fellowship. The GSO is involved in the following activities:

  • Literature – The GSO is the authorised agent of A.A. World Service in the distribution of A.A. conference approved literature in Aotearoa New Zealand
  • Conference & Board Meetings – Organises venues, travel and accommodation for Delegates and Board Members
  • Group Services – Responds to member questions relating to A.A. and arranges Public Liability Insurance for meeting rooms
  • Public Information – The GSO acts as the primary point of contact for the general public, media, employers seeking advice about staff and the professional community

Do I need to register to attend an A.A. meeting?

No. Anyone can attend an open A.A. meeting simply by showing up. Use our online meeting finder to find an A.A. meeting near you. If you would like to talk to an A.A. member before attending your first meeting please call us on 0800 AA WORKS (0800 229 6757) or email us at [email protected] and we’ll put you in touch with someone who can help.

Yes. The office is staffed part time. If you are planning to visit, please call first on +64 (04) 472 4250 to make sure someone will be in the office and leave a voice message if we are unavailable.
