Service Structure

AA is blessed with a membership which offers a variety of talents for use within the fellowship.

AA service starts with a new member being introduced to the Fellowship by an older member in sobriety.

A willingness to become involved is an essential ingredient in the successful, continuous carrying of the message to the still suffering alcoholic.

Groups elect representatives to local and area service.

Area Assemblies elect delegates to national service as members of the general Service Conference.

The Conference elects delegates to world service and approves members of the General Service Board.

It must be emphasised that all servants of the fellowship are expected to carry out their responsibilities in a manner which is in harmony with the faith that permeates and guides the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous, inspired by the 12 Steps of AA in accordance with the Twelve Traditions and Concepts and in keeping with the guidelines of the General Service Conference.
