DESCRIPTION:The AA Board and Conference would like to advise members that the 2027 National Convention\, planned for January 2027 in Wellington\, will not proceed.\n\nThe Board is very mindful that National Conventions are an important part of AA life in Aotearoa New Zealand. They provide an opportunity for fellowship\, connection\, and service\, and are something many members look forward to. The decision not to proceed in 2027 was therefore not taken lightly.\n\nUltimately\, the Board carries the legal and financial responsibility for National Conventions. In reaching this decision\, the Board and Conference considered factors including delivery readiness\, financial exposure\, venue suitability\, and wider economic conditions that may affect attendance and risk. On balance\, we unanimously agreed that proceeding with a 2027 Convention may place AA at undue risk.\n\nWe also want to acknowledge and thank the members who volunteered their time toward planning the proposed Convention.
