When – on Saturday 27 May 2023 from 9.30 to 12
(Light lunch/refreshments from 12 to 12.30)
Where – At the Quaker Room, Moncrieff Street, Mount Victoria, Wellington
How much does this cost – attendance is free
Why should you come? – come to the service workshop to find out more about the many ways you can do service in the Fellowship of AA
Who is this for? Any member of AA is welcome to attend this workshop. If you are interested in doing service now or in the future, this is a good time to come and find out from fellow AAs about opportunities for service
AAs who have done service in the fellowship will talk to you and answer questions about their services through:
- Your AA home group – as Secretary, Treasurer, setting up the meeting, greeting newcomers, or as the representative of your AA group in the AA service structure – as General Service Representative (GSR)
- The Wellington District Committee- as Secretary, Treasurer, Chair, GSR representative, Coordinator or member of the Public Information Committee
or the Treatment and Corrections Facilities Committee, Working with Professionals. 0800 Co-Ordinator
- On the 0800 AA helpline or helping others through the 12 step list
- Your service to your fellow AAs as a sponsor or through sharing your experience strength and hope in meetings
- Attendance at AA meetings run at treatment facilities and at the prisons
- The National Conference – as an elected office holder including secretary, chair, delegate to conference
